Exposing Deceptive Defense Doctors

Posted by defensebaseactcomp on March 18, 2009

Defense attorneys for AIG and CNA hire doctors to provide Independent Medical Examintations, IME’s, at the taxpayers expense to provide their interpretation of an injured contractors disability rating.

There are even companies like MES Solutions who are devoted to working for the insurance companies.
These hired gun doctors are particularly problematic when it comes to diagnosing PTSD.

One “doctor” used by AIG has even admitted not knowing anything about PTSD and that his field of practice was pharmacology.
One AOLJ Judge has said publicly that he doesn’t believe PTSD exists.
Both this Doctor and this Judge are still part of Defense Base Act PTSD cases being denied.
Dorothy Clay Simms has written an excellent book called “Exposing Deceptive Defense Doctors”.

From Ms. Simms blog:
“Defense doctors often pick and choose which test results to include in their reports, slanting the report in favor of the defense. They “forget” to report malingering scales when your client passed, or they report only the subscales that conclude malingering, not those your client passed.
